Update on the BBS TUI app I have been vibe coding throughout the day.

  • It can now show a list of Markdown posts from the Space Coast Devs
  • It can show a detailed view of each post
  • I got it run over SSH

Now to figure out how to deploy it.

Back in my home state ⭐️ for a few days. I’ve been reading Broad Band by Claire Evans and it made me nostalgic for my formative years on the computer. I decided to build a TUI that works like the BBSes back in day. Doing some vibe coding in Go using the Charm library.

A laptop and iced coffee sit on a wooden table in a spacious indoor area with a high glass ceiling and lush greenery.

Yay! Firebase is down and all my users got kicked out of the app!! 🎉

Hopefully this gets figured out soon. 😅

I voted today! Dropping of a mail ballot is pretty easy when you forget to mail it on time 😅

Finished reading: Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson 📚

This has been on my reading list for years. I enjoyed the story for the most part. It is crazy to think this came out in the early 90s before most had even heard of the Internet.

Finished reading: Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams 📚

I finished this a few months ago but I am just now logging it now that it exists in the database. This was a wild ride.

Barnes and Noble and 2600 - The Hacker Quarterly

30+ years ago a Barnes and Noble opened in our smallish town. It was quite a site after only going to small bookstores in the mall. One of the first things I picked up was my first copy of 2600. Most of it was way over my head but to my teenage mind I was reading the stuff of legends. Anytime I pop into our Barnes and Noble I pick up the latest issue.
